She was predeceased by: her parents, William J. Rainey and Mamie Gorman Rainey; her husband V. Q. Lanier; and her sisters, Cecile R. Browning, Aileen R. Brooks and Mayo R. Younts.
She is survived by: her son Terry Lanier (Kathy) of Shelby; her grandchildren, Alex Lanier (Kellie) of Leland, NC and Whitney Harrison (Trent) of Wilmington, NC; her great grandchild Zakary Lanier; her niece Melanie McDaniel; and her nephews, Ronnie Brooks (Glenda) and Bill Browning (Becky). She is also survived by children and grandchildren.
