He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Jackson Bowers, Jr. and Gwyndolyn Carter Bowers; and his mother-in-law Judy Banks Colgate. He is survived by: his wife Kendal Bowers; his children, Jackson, Weston and Kaelynn Bowers; his siblings, Amie Bowers, Brad Bowers, Ashley Crane (Jason), Andrew Bowers (Megan) and Abby John (Travis); his father-in-law Tom Colgate (Lee); and his brothers-in-law, Jamie Colgate (Amy) and Chris Colgate (Shellie). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ministries Tanner was passionate about at First Baptist Church, 301 E. First Street, Cherryville, NC 28021.
