He was predeceased by: his parents, Haywood Clea Poteat and Francis Humphries Poteat; and his brothers, Billy Joe Poteat and Jack Evans Poteat. He is survived by: his wife Ginger Justice Poteat; his children, Stephen Timothy "Tim" Poteat (Lisa) and Tabitha Poteat (Misty Justuce); his grandson Jacob Dylan Poteat; his niece Tiffany Davis; his close friend Johnathan Wray; and his sister-in-law Janice White. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Eastside Baptist Church (1165 Wyke Rd, Shelby, NC 28150). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 11th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
