He is survived by: his wife Barbara Smith Dixon of Shelby; his children, Laura Dixon Lampley (Chuck Lampley) of Shelby and Sidney Stern Dixon III (Louise Dixon) of Charlotte; and his grandchildren, Sidney Stern Dixon IV of Denver, Hannah Dixon of Edwards, Colorado, Elizabeth Lampley of Charlotte, Sydney Lampley of Winston-Salem and Sarah Lampley of Chapel Hill.
