It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Russell Sparks (Shelby, North Carolina), who passed away on February 22, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Sparks and Louise Sparks; his wife Betty Louise Duffy; and his siblings, James Sparks, Floyd Sparks Jr., Roger Sparks, Maxine Mohr, Donald Sparks and Johnny Sparks.
He is survived by: his sisters, Virginia Clemons, Nola German and Joanne Benner; and his children, Lynne Sparks, Deborah Hughes, Teresa Waln (Steve), Thomas Sparks and Lisa Dean (Slaman). He is also survived by ten grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.
