He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Saunders and Ruby Brooks Saunders; his son Douglas Todd Saunders; his siblings, David Saunders and Rita Saunders Arnette; and his in-laws, Jim and Anne Williams.
He is survived by: his wife Sara Williams Saunders; his daughter Kimberle Saunders Lee (Daniel Lee); his granddaughters, Dr. Jessica Lee Zimmerman (Max) and Chelsea Katelyn Lee; his siblings, Marge Hudson (Philip) and Tim Saunders (Linda); and his brother-in-law Monty Williams (Wanda). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford 600 College Street Oxford, NC 27565, or Shriners Children's Hospital 950 West.Farris.
