He was predeceased by: his parents, Jarvis Pearson and Verdie Blanton Pearson; his wife Joyce Hamrick Pearson; and his siblings, Doris Bright, Betty Cochran, Thelma Barnette, Irvin Pearson and Obie Pearson.
He is survived by: his children, Greg Pearson of Bostic, Bryan Pearson (Pam) of Shelby and Stephanie Pearson (Marty); his brothers, Danny Pearson (Jackie) of Shelby and Bill Pearson (Elaine) of Shelby; and his grandchildren, Tiffany Ledford, Caleb Pearson, Patrick Pearson, Marc Marshall, Austin Marshall, Andrew VanAtta, Cassie Murray and Megan Ledford. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
