She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Herbert Long and Margaret Spake Long; her husband Ed Smith; her brothers, Max Long (Sarah), Hugh Long and Wayne Long; her son-in-law Bob Curtis; and her siblings-in-law, Mildred Blackwell, Donald, Lorene Self, A. G. Whisnant, Virginia Hamrick and Margie Hayes.
She is survived by: her children, Eddie Smith (Teresa) and Melissa Curtis; her grandchildren, Amanda Smith, Elizabeth Canipe (David), Matt Curtis (Meredith) and Shannon Curtis; her great grandchildren, Case, Huck, Seth, Hayden Canipe and Sadie; and her siblings-in-law, Joy Long, Anita Long and James Hayes. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Elizabeth Baptist Church (301 N Post Rd, Shelby, NC 28152). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
