It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phillip Ray Rucker Sr. of Shelby, North Carolina, who passed away on January 14, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father William Ralph Rucker, Sr.; his wife Carolyn Webb Rucker; and his siblings, William Ralph "Tink" Rucker (Betty), Mary Lillian Spangler (Ed) and Chris Rucker Wilson (Lewis).
He is survived by: his sons, Will Rucker (Tina) of Shelby, Phil Rucker, Jr. (Jennie) of Hamptonville, NC, Jim Rucker (Hope) of Shelby and Tim Rucker (Laura) of Shelby; his grandchildren, Nancy Greene (Patrick), Anna Rucker (Morty Gaskill), Erin Richardson (Kyle), Rae Vestal (Tanner), Jacob Rucker, Christy Rucker (Jason Beaver), Patrick Rucker, McKenzie Mowery (Trevor), Alex Hojnacki, Hayden Hojnacki, Kendrick Rucker and Jessie Rucker; his great grandchildren, Nelson Greene, Miller Greene and Shelby Richardson; and also Connie Siwak. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Central United Methodist Church-Window Fund, 200 East Marion Street, Shelby, NC 28150 or to the Donor's choice.
