He was predeceased by: his father Phillip Ray Benfield, Sr.; his sister Tammy Wilkes; and his grandparents, Waits, Rachel Benfield, Carl and Corine Boyles.
He is survived by: his mother Lucy Boyles Dempsey; his father-in-law James of Cortland; and his nephew Joseph Wilkes.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory (106 Cherryville Rd, Shelby, NC 28150). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Benfield Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Phillip's memory to Hope Community Church, 1114 S. Lafayette St., Shelby, NC 28152.
