He was predeceased by: his parents, Banner Sanders and Ruth Hicks Sanders; his former wife Leona Shell Sanders; and his siblings, Kay Chapman, Terry Sanders and Jack Sanders Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Janet Humphries Sanders; his sons, Gregory Sanders (Jimmy Bennett) of Valdese, NC and Jacob "Cody" Sanders of Shelby, NC; his father-in-law Dean Humphries of Shelby, NC; his stepdaughters, Rebecca Harris of San Antonio, TX and Christina Harris of Corpus Christi, TX; his siblings, Larry Sanders of Hickory, NC and Doris Warren of Lenoir, NC; and his friend Roger Gilbert of Lenoir, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Sandy Plains Baptist Church (2112 New House Rd, Shelby, NC 28150). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
