He was predeceased by: his parents, William Wheat and Judy Wright Wheat; and his siblings, Roger, Kenny, Ronnie Wheat and June Ann Rudolph.
He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Webb Wheat; his stepchildren, Thomas Joseph Abbott of Shelby and Rhonda Wease (Geoff) of Earl; his siblings, Linda Atkins (Johnny) of Grover and Lynn; his sister-in-law Jane Sarratt of Boiling Springs; his grandson Wade Waddell; and his great grandchildren, Maliyah and Isaiah Waddell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
