He was predeceased by: his mother Ruby Phillips Helms; and his wife Judy Bryson Helms. He is survived by: his children, Julie Helms Beeson of Kings Mountain, NC, Karen Helms Hollingsworth (Timmy) of Wanesville, NC and Chris Helms (Adrienne) of Kings Mountain, NC; his grandchildren, Josh, Kaitlin, Erin, Christina (Garrett), Kasey, Avery, Christian, Sarah and Kolton; his great grandchildren, Zayden, Kaizlynn and Zyla; and his close friend Judy Walker.
