He is survived by: his children, Anna Tate, Lanell Tate, Lisa Filali-Adib (Nabil), Lloyd Ivey Tate, Jr. (Elenice), Tracy Littlejohn (John), April Osborne (Martin), Timothy Tate (Indiana Poston), Shawn Tate (Renee Mason) and Charles Tate (Samantha); his siblings, Edna Johnson of Shelby and William Freeman Tate, Jr. of Shelby; his son-in-law Western; and his wife Glenda. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and greatnephews.
