He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Penson "G. P." Oliver and Bessie Foster Oliver; his wife Nell Wright Oliver; and his siblings, Dean Oliver and Vickie Smith Rice.
He is survived by: his sons, Mark (Lynn Oliver) and Dale (Elizabeth Oliver); his grandchildren, Lindsay Oliver (Dan Sachs), Brittany (Caleb Wray), Craig (Tori Oliver) and Courtney (Clay Huffstetler); his great grandchildren, Cylas, Olivia Wray, Oliver Huffstetler and Camden Oliver; his siblings, Henry Oliver (Shirley) of Shelby, Jerry Oliver of Kings Mountain, David Oliver (Annie) of Kings Mountain, Ruby Ledford of Lawndale, Clara Crawford of Kings Mountain and Evelene Thompson of Kings Mountain; and his pet Sarge. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
