With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joyce W. Smith of Shelby, North Carolina, born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on December 19, 2023 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Rudolph Willard Wilson and Lavada Samantha McGinnis; and her siblings, Bill Wilson, Jean Anderson, Sybile Wilson, Doris Devon and Rebecca Wilson.
She is survived by: her husband Bobby Smith; her children, Gene Smith (Barbara) of Hartwell and Rebecca Butler (Garland) of Shelby; her brother Ronnie Wilson (Mary) of Kings Mountain; her grandchildren, Joshua Smith (Kristine) of Bowersville, GA, Morgan Akin (Brandt) of Lavonia, GA, Ansley Vaughan (Casey) of Shelby and Andrea Blanton (Randy) of Shelby; her great grandchildren, Luke, Amelia Kate, Truitt, Will, Eli, Julianna and Brayden; and her stepgrandchildren, Ian Butler, Jason Butler, Jade Butler Owens and Daryl Le Charpentier. She is also survived by nine step great grandchildren.
