He was predeceased by: his parents, John Daniel and Mattie Grey Dedmon; and his wife Joyce Swink Dedmon. He is survived by: his children, Karen Dedmon of Shelby, James Dedmon of Caser and Michael Dedmon of Forest City; and his grandchildren, Austin McCutcheon, Amiee Dedmon and Beth Dedmon. He is also survived by several Great Grandchildren.
