He is survived by: his wife Mary Esther Toole; his children, Margaret "Marlie" Elizabeth Toole and James "Jamie" Pershing Toole, III (Karen); his grandson James "Jay" Toole, IV; his stepgrandson Anthony Rogers; and his brother-in-law Fred Moss Jr. (Kay).
