With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jim Carpenter of Shelby, North Carolina, who passed away on March 20, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry George Carpenter and Jessie White Carpenter; his wife Frances Lackey Carpenter; and his siblings, Rachel Beam, Dean Carpenter, Wade Carpenter and Dale Carpenter.
He is survived by: his children, Jamie Pearson, Stuart Carpenter and Scott Newcomb; his grandchildren, Jason Pearson (Ashley) and Michelle Scott; his great grandchildren, Scarlett, Chloe and Andy Pearson; his sisters-in-law, Betty Carpenter and Pansy Carpenter; and his nieces and nephews, Jimmy Dean, Jerry Carpenter, Renee Beam and Kathy Carpenter.
Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Cleveland County Animal Shelter or Boy Scout Troop 323: 702 E. First St. Cherryville 28021.
