He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest McGinnis and Rena McGinnis; and his sisters, Jean Thrift and Patsy Eskew. He is survived by: his wife Yazmin McGinnis; his children, Daria, Elena, Larissa Coles (Jonathan) and Erek McGinnis (Emily); his grandchildren, Taylor, Samantha Coles, Hunter and Mason McGinnis; and his sisters, Deborah Rogers (Chris) and Amelia McGinnis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home (106 Cherryville Rd, Shelby, NC 28150).
Memorials may be made in his honor to Yazmin McGinnis for the children's college scholarship fund.
