He is survived by: his wife Jennifer Nannery Mathies; his children, Jeffrey Alan Mathies Jr. (Brittany) of Shelby, NC, James Thompson (Kaitlyn) of Ohio and Jessica Mathies of Shelby, NC; his grandchildren, Autumn, Jeffrey III, Leland, Kai, Gianni, Guliana, Haedyn, Kian and Rhea; his siblings, Patty Melesky (Tom) of Ohio, Susan Crawley (Jim) of Ohio, Gordon Mathies (Sharon) of Ohio, Bill Mathies (Kathi) of Ohio, Vicki Swank of Ohio, Richard Mathies of Shelby, NC, Chris Baughman of Ohio, Michelle Tatulinski (Tim) of Ohio, Kara Figueroa (Kris) of Ohio, Gerry Butcher (Ed) of Ohio and Tina Collins (Bob) of Ohio; his mother Virginia "Jenny" Hill Baughman; and his stepmother Kathy Mathies of Ohio. He is also survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family.
He was a foundation builder, that chose implementation by discipline and hard work while leading by example.
