He was predeceased by: his parents, William Arthur Russ and Nettie Owens Russ; his stepmother Bertha Neill Russ; and his siblings, Wilburn Russ, Larry Russ and Lorene Dellinger Harbison.
He is survived by: his wife Opal Thrift Russ; his children, Richard Russ (Vicki), Pat Humphries and Susan Brooks (Jim); his brothers, Joe Russ of Charlotte, NC and Wayne Russ (Ann) of Cherryville, NC.; his grandchildren, Nicholas Hurdt, Nathan Hurdt, Peyton Humphries, Amanda Locklear and Todd Royster; his great grandchildren, Taylor Royster, Tori Younce, Aubree Locklear, Clint Hurdt and Cooper Hurdt; his great great grandchild Karson Younce; and also, Bill and Martha Adair.
The family asks that those attending follow Covid guidelines including masks and social distancing.
