He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Woodrow and Patsy Philbeck Gold Cabaniss; and his brother John Oliver Gold. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Latham Gold; his daughter Sherri Gold McSwain (Steve) of Shelby; his siblings, Morris Gold (Drew) of Shelby, Bill Gold (Maria) of Iron Station, NC, Sarah McGinnis of Shelby and Mary Tanner (Keith) of Gastonia; his siblings-in-law, Bob Latham (Bonnie) of Pinon Hills, CA, Tom Latham (Regina) of Shelby and Sue Harmon (Wade) of Boiling Springs, NC; his pet Luna; his grandsons, Tyler McSwain of Shelby and Tanner McSwain (Brianna) of Oak Hill, WV; and his pet Reece. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
