We are sad to announce that on September 10, 2023, at the age of 88, James E. Monroe of Shelby, North Carolina, born in Cleveland, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles A. Monroe and Vertie Threatt Monroe; and his brothers, Gene of Shelby and Douglas Monroe of Shelby. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Monroe; his son James Clifton Monroe; his grandson Billy James Monroe (Kristin) of Boiling Springs; his brother David Monroe (Gaye) of Shelby; and his sister-in-law Nancy Monroe of Shelby. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
