He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Henderson Simpson and Viona Ruth Moore Simpson; his children, Jack S. Simpson, Jr. and Debra Denice Simpson; his siblings, Rev. Herman Simpson, Bobby Simpson, Bud Simpson, Steve Simpson, Carl Simpson, Eugene Simpson, Betty Guy, Yvonne Reynolds, Frances Peeler, Elaine Carpenter, Janie Simpson and Martha Simpson; and his grandchildren, Alderholt Lee and Rebecca Hamrick.
He is survived by: his wife Sybil McSwain Simpson; his daughter Sherry Lee (Timmy) of Shelby; his grandchildren, Marie Lee, Joe Lee, April Cloninger and Ashley Wilson; and his great grandchildren, Noah Hollingsworth, Austin Simpson, Jackson Lee, James Lee, Dalton Cloninger and J. D. Hamrick.
