She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Smawley and Vernie Grayson Smawley; her siblings, William, Edwin Smawley and Ann Bone; her niece Rhonda Robinson; her nephew Harold Smawley; and her great-nephew Mark Carroll.
She is survived by: her nephew Wayne Smawley of Morganton; and her nieces, Raye Womack of Charlotte and Doris Causby of Glen Alpine. She is also survived by 9 great nieces and nephews; and a number of great great nieces and nephews.
