He was predeceased by: his parents, Romie Calvin Spurling and Ruby Lee Goins Spurling; and his sisters, Janice Sigmon and Carolyn Barnett. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Emory Spurling; and his brother Earnest Wray Spurling (Wilma) of Shelby. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
