He was predeceased by: his parents, William Wesley Thompson and Ossie Bivins Thompson; his wife Ardelle McGinnis Thompson; and his siblings, Eugene, William Wayne, Vernon, Rosa Lee, Hazel, Avis, Effie May and Reba.
He is survived by: his children, Wesley "Wes" (Linda) of Statesville and Mary Weaver (Chet) of Kings Mountain; and his grandchildren, Katie (Clark Dotson) of Troutman and Mason Weaver of Kings Mountain.
