He was predeceased by: his parents, Lennie Hazel Brittain and Sallie Ramsey Brittain; his children, Bert Brittain and Lora Brittain Lawrence; and his siblings, Ted Brittain, Jackie Hamrick, Kay Lail and Jimmy Brittain.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ruth Powell Brittain; his son Bradley Brittain (Sandra) of Lawndale; his grandchildren, Jason Brittain (Ashley) of Greenville, SC, Jennifer Brittain of Lawndale, NC and Madelyne Lawrence of Salisbury, NC.; and his great grandchildren, Brylan Brittain and Layla Brittain.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Lafayette Street Church (1420 S Lafayette St, Shelby, NC 28152).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in George's memory to an organization of the donor's choice.
