We are sad to announce that on December 9, 2022, at the age of 87, Franklin C. Sweezy Jr. of Shelby, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Franklin Curtis Sweezy, Sr.; his wife Joyce Sweezy; and his siblings, McCellan Sweezy, Ward Sweezy, Vernie Philbeck, Brenda Carter and Ruth McSwain.
He is survived by: his daughter Ginger Sweezy Burns (David Burns); his grandchildren, Savannah Burns and Noah Burns; his siblings, Lois Edwards, Doris Werling and Gerald Sweezy (Cornelia); and his sisters-in-law, Martha Stickland and Nancy Kendrick (Joe). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
