He was predeceased by: his father Jimmy Short; his stepfather Richard Tesseneer; and his brother Darrell Short. He is survived by: his mother Bonnie Summey Tesseneer of Shelby; and his siblings, Dwayne Tesseneer (Tamieka Howell) of Greensboro and Carol Short (Brent Eaker) of Shelby. He is also survived by seven nephews and nieces; and six great-nephews and nieces.
