It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doug Gold (Shelby, North Carolina), born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on May 27, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Griffin Gold and Ellie Campbell Gold; his former wife Klementine Gold; and his brothers, Robert, James and Dan Gold.

He is survived by: his wife Madeline Blanton Ledford Gold; his children, Andre Bloom (Lisa) of Blacksburg, Steve Gold (Gina) of Boiling Springs and Martina Bloom of Waco; his stepson Chris Ledford of Shelby; and his siblings, Lib Revels of Shelby, Margaret Cummings of Shelby, Bill Gold (Pat) of Forest City and Phil Gold (Diana) of Columbia, SC. He is also survived by six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
