It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Donnis Faye Ashley Gold of Shelby, North Carolina, who passed away on May 18, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Brackney Ashley and Mary Jane Brown Ashley; her former husbands, Willie Clement Canipe and Norel Kenneth Ware; and her siblings, James Ashley, Bonnie Jones, Frankie Patrick and Ruby Clary.

She is survived by: her husband James Monroe Gold; her son Steve Canipe (Carol) of Shelby, NC; and her sister Dot Arrowood of Shelby, NC. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
