He is survived by: his wife Jo Simmons Short; his children, Tamara Short and Jerry Short (Sandra); his grandchildren, Jenny Short, Brandon Hutchins, Bryan Hutchins and Candace Short; his great grandchildren, Madalie Short, Mason Hill, Vada Hutchins, Javy Hutchins, Maggie Hutchins, Jazmyn Moore, Nevaeh Moore and Asher Hutchins; and his sister Judy Freeman.
