He is survived by: his wife Eugenia Leary Byers; his children, Sherica Byers of Kingstown, NC, Charlie Byers, Jr. of Kingstown, NC, Montavious Byers of Mooresboro, NC and Rodrick Young of Shelby; his siblings, Hazel Williams of Shelby, NC, John Byers of Mooresboro, NC and Thomas Byers of Mooresboro, NC; his grandchildren, Kaliyah Byers, Kalan Hamrick, Karter Hamrick, Kennedi Hamrick and Rashad Young; his niece Demetria Byers; his aunts, Bula Mitchell, Alma Jean Surratt (James), Inez Earl and Sarah Martin; and his close friends, Adrian Rice and Charles Little. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
