She was predeceased by: her parents, Ollie Deaton and Essie Wilson Deaton; her husband Bennie Jack Yates; her sons, Jackie and Robbie Yates; her granddaughter Megan Elizabeth Rogers; and her siblings, Don Deaton and Carolyn Cowart.
She is survived by: her children, Lisa Yates of Shelby and Jeff Yates (Rebecca) of Ithaca, NY; her sister Joyce Tatham (Jack) of Shelby; and her granddaughters, Madison Curtis (Jesse) and Nora Yates.
