It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ben Carpenter (Shelby, North Carolina), born in Waco, North Carolina, who passed away on September 12, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Jacob Carpenter and Claudia Lee Williams Carpenter; his wife Alma Mae Thrift; and his son John David Carpenter of Easley, SC.. He is survived by: his daughter Gayla Lynn Carpenter Bucher (Bill) of Salisbury, NC; his daughter-in-law Myra Kay Jacks Carpenter of Easley, SC; and his grandchildren, Lauren Terwilliger (Kevin), Jacob Carpenter (Joyce), Ryan Carpenter (Jennifer), Abigail Ness (Eric) and Erin Carpenter. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
