She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Simms and Lucille Pritchett Simms; her son David Rice; and her daughter-in-law Margi Rice. She is survived by: her husband Rev. James "Jim" Rice; and her sons, Jimmy Rice (Diana) of Deerfield Beach, FL, Stephen Rice of Chapel Hill, NC, Daniel "Danny" Rice (Erin) of Shelby, NC and Mark Rice (Melinda) of Winston-Salem, NC.. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
