As Sarah Elizabeth departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Sarah Elizabeth may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Sarah Elizabeth leaves behind.
She is survived by: her son Caleb Scott; her parents, Rev. Thomas Ray Meares and Cathy Britt Meares; and her close friend Jessie "JJ" Jacobs (John Scott). She is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Floyd Mortuary and Crematory (809 E 5th St, Lumberton, NC 28358). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Floyd Memorial Chapel (809 E 5th St, Lumberton, NC 28358). A burial was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at the Faith Cemetery (5190 Fayetteville Rd, Lumberton, NC 28360).
