She was predeceased by: her parents, Mark E. Mattingly and Angelia Schaefer Mattingly; her brothers, Robert Mattingly and James Mattingly; her daughter Jennifer Gilpin; her niece Diana Mattingly; and her nephew James Mattingly, Jr. (Linda).
She is survived by: her husband Charles M. Wood; her son Christopher B. Gilpin; her brother William E. Mattingly (Rita); her siblings-in-law, Frank Wood (Kathy) and Ruth Steed (Rich); and her nieces and nephews, Bill Mattingly (Kelly Mattingly), Sean Mattingly (Vanessa Mattingly), Andrew Wood (Hollyn Wood), Katie Ballard (Will Ballard) and Tina Ray (Tony).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to either the American Cancer Society or the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, a campus of Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
