She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Lawrence McLaughlin and Mazie Hite McLaughlin; and her son Billy Wayne Mahaffey. She is survived by: her nieces, Kay Cain of Marlinton and Linda Spencer of Marlinton.

Because of Covid19, graveside services in Brunswick Memorial Gardens, Shallotte, NC, will be private.
