She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Ray and Ruby Stinnett Cook; and her husband Carl Shaeffer. She is survived by: her children, Charles Robert Shaeffer Sr. (Peggy) of Ohio, Patricia Gray of Ohio and Deborah Groover (Dan) of Indiana; and her sister Margaret Fulton of Ohio. She is also survived by six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
