He was predeceased by: his brothers, Richard, George, Billy and John. He is survived by: his sisters, Teresa Sheffield of Seven Lakes, Linda Sheffield of Hampstead, NC, Lee Currie (Keith) of Candor and Diana Nguyen (Hung) of Charlotte, Two; and his aunts, Louise Sheffield of Asheboro and Edith Kearn of Denton, NC.. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
