She was predeceased by: her parents, Louise Morning Brooks and James Magruder Hunter, Jr.; and her siblings, James Magruder Hunter, III (Dorothy Hartis), Douglas Brooks Hunter (Betty Stone) and Margaret Reid Hunter Malpass.

She is survived by: her husband James Owen (Jim); her grandchildren, Jordan and Quintin of Raleigh, NC.; her sisters, Lou Underwood Hunter Bouldin (Gene Bouldin) of High Point, NC and Susan Avent Hunter of Kernersville, NC; and also, James Benjamin Owen of Greensboro, NC and Robert Hunter Owen (Kate).

Marshall Street, Suite 105B, Winston-Salem, NC, 27101, http://www.brpfoundation.org., or other charities benefiting the North Carolina mountains, a place that Mary cherished.
