He was predeceased by: his parents, Eula Beasley and Norman Strickland. He is survived by: his wife Ruthie; his children, Amy Strickland (Ty Freeman) of Garner and Norwood Strickland (Anne) of Four Oaks; his grandchildren, Coralie Ruth Freeman, Jonathan, Savannah and Faith Strickland; his brothers, Donald Strickland (Linda) and Harold Strickland; his sister-in-law Patsy Daughtry (Tom); his niece Amber Strickland Daniels (Jason); and his nephews, Ricky Ward (Melodie) and Brandon Ward (Amanda). He is also survived by grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Wayne's memory to the Wilson's Mills Baptist Church Building Fund, NC State Wolfpack Club Scholarship Fund, or to the Alzheimer's Association.
