He is survived by: his wife Sandra Smith Morgan; his children, Stephen H. Pate Jr. (Shannon Chapman) of Micro, Tiffany Pate Franks (Christopher) of Holly Springs and Audra Kim Morgan (Sharon Jones) of Rolesville; his siblings, Benny Morgan (Jeannette) of Middlesex and Emily Morgan Kelly of Middlesex; his brothers-in-law, L. C. Smith (Helen) of Micro and Bill Clarke (Betty) of Pine Level; and his grandsons, Lance Kelbaugh (Briel) of Cary, Andrew Chapman (Emily) and Matthew Chapman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
