He is survived by: his wife Cathy Potts Massey Hammons; his children, Jessica Downham (Joshua) of Zebulon, Adam Hammons of Selma, Catherine Windham (Brandon) of Pikeville, Victoria Howell (Brian) of Goldsboro and Benjamin Massey Jr. (Kristina Alvis) of Kenly; his siblings, Clowny Hammons Jr., Tim Hammons of Frankewing, TN, Sherry Hammons and Patsy Quinn of Martinsville, VA; his mother-in-law Norma Potts; his sister-in-law Sallie Potts; and his grandchildren, Conner, Damon, Lydia Downham, Jayden, Luke Windham, Landon and Annaleigh Howell.
