He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Bell and Betsy Jordan Bell; and his wife Cynthia Stephenson Bell. He is survived by: his sons, Robert E. Bell, III of Colorado and Jonathan "Jon" Bell of Smithfield; his siblings, Tommy Bell (Karen) of Smithfield, Jordan Bell (Kay) of South Boston, VA and Cora Bell McKnight of Newbern; and his friend Cecil Heavner. He is also survived by 3 nephews, 1 niece.
