With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Oscar Lee Hinton Jr. of Selma, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 4, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Hinton and Elizabeth Hinton of Wilson County, NC.; and his siblings, Randall Hinton, Carlton Hinton and Juanita Hinton.
He is survived by: his spouse Lou Nell Parrott; his children, Derek Hinton (Dottie Hinton) of Elon, NC, Miles Hinton of Selma, NC and Sandra Hinton (Henry Kahen); his granddaughters, Emily Hinton of Greensboro, NC, Betsy Hinton of Selma, NC and Natalie Patten (Brian Patten) of Cary, NC; and his siblings, Marjorie Workman and Douglas Hinton (Judy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Parrish Funeral Home (1351 S Pollock St, Selma, NC 27576). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Parrish Funeral Home, Inc. (1351 S Pollock St, Selma, NC 27576). A burial was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at the Sunset Memorial.
