He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Earl and Bessie Lee Jones Earp; and his siblings, Joseph Earl "Joe" Earp and Ernestine Earp Grice. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Wall Earp; his son James Leon "Jim" Earp, Jr. of Smithfield; and his daughter-in-law Donna Earp of Selma.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the James L. "Jimmy" Earp Memorial Golf Scholarship.
